斗底下的燈
（路8‧16－18）
21耶穌又對他們說：「人拿燈來，豈是要放在斗底下，牀底下，不放在燈臺上嗎？ 22因為掩藏的事，沒有不顯出來的；隱瞞的事，沒有不露出來的。 23有耳可聽的，就應當聽！」 24又說：「你們所聽的要留心。你們用甚麼量器量給人，也必用甚麼量器量給你們，並且要多給你們。 25因為有的，還要給他；沒有的，連他所有的也要奪去。」
各位平安，今天我們要分享的是《馬可福音》第四章二十一到二十五節的經文。雖然這一段只有短短四節，但當你仔細去讀的時候，會發現這裡面的資訊量其實非常大。我們一句一句地來看這段經文。這一段常常被稱為「燈的比喻」，但其實在這裡面，至少包含了三個很重要的屬靈觀念。我們一起來看看。
首先，耶穌問了一個問題：「人拿燈來，豈是要放在斗底下，或是床底下嗎？不是放在燈臺上嗎？」
這句話本身，就已經帶出一個很清楚的含義。在《路加福音》裡也有記載，燈的用途，就是為了照亮整個家。所以我們知道，耶穌在這裡所比喻的，是基督的真理。既然我們被稱為世界的光，那麼光的本質，就是要照亮人。
這是一個很正面的教導，我們也常常用這段經文來鼓勵弟兄姊妹：既然我們是光，就應該把這個真理活出來、分享出去。這樣的理解，本身是沒有錯的。
但同時，這段話也有另一個不那麼「舒服」的層面。
當光被放在燈臺上的時候，還有一件事情會發生——黑暗並不喜歡光。當你成為光的時候，你很可能就成為被攻擊的對象。而且，很多時候，你越是活得像光，黑暗反而越討厭你。這正是基督徒常常會面對的一個矛盾。
你可能很真心、很單純地想要分享福音，很願意把你所知道的真理說出來，你的動機是好的，你的心也是樂意的。但在現實中，你得到的回應，卻常常不是鼓勵，而是反嗆、冷嘲，甚至是排斥。有些人不想聽，有些人覺得你多管閒事，甚至有時候，你會被自己所屬的群體所排斥。你期待的是正面的回應，但實際上，卻常常得到反向的結果。
當我們擁有真理，當我們有能力分享真理，卻選擇不分享的時候，那其實就是一件我們需要反思、甚至需要悔改的事情。因為燈，本來就不應該被隱藏起來。
接著，耶穌說了第二句話：「隱藏的事，沒有不顯出來的；隱瞞的事，也沒有不露出來的。」
這句話本身，就帶出一個很重要的真理：真理，是不能被長久壓制的。
在我們的人類社會裡，我們都知道有所謂的政治因素，有所謂的人際關係考量，也有所謂「不方便說的話」，或是「大家不想聽的話」。
但耶穌在這裡清楚地告訴我們：隱藏的，終究會被顯明。
我們如果選擇裝作沒看見，並不代表事情真的不存在；如果大家一起假裝沒發生，也不代表這件事就真的沒有發生。想要把事情隱瞞起來，終究是會顯露出來的。
這段話也提醒我們：有時候，確實會有人用政治的手段，或是人際關係的手段，試圖壓制真理、阻止真理被說出來。但基督徒要明白一件事：你今天所分享的，是壓不住的。因為你分享的，不是你個人的意見，而是上帝的真理。人不願意聽，不代表他們能夠阻止真理的擴張。
在宗教改革的時期，馬丁．路德之所以站出來，是因為他實在沒有辦法壓制自己內心中的良心。他清楚地看見，當時教會販賣贖罪券的行為是錯誤的。這樣的作法，不只傷害了許多百姓的信仰，也使教會的名聲與見證受到極大的損害。路德無法接受這樣的事實，因此，他選擇直接與當時最有權力和力量組織 – 天主教會 ——當面辯論。
接下來所發生的事情，就是我們今天所熟知的宗教改革運動，這一股浪潮席捲了整個歐洲，也引發了一段極其深遠的歷史變動。我相信，在那個時代，看見這些問題的人絕對不只一個。許多人其實都知道這是不對的。但真正願意為了真理，為了聖經的教導，付上代價、甚至奉上生命的，卻只有馬丁．路德，以及少數幾位宗教改革者。他們看不下去，也無法接受聖經的真理被扭曲。
或許，在教會裡，有不少修士、牧師，心中也曾有過同樣的掙扎與感動，明白這些事是不對的；但他們選擇了沉默，沒有把話說出來。然而，真理終究不會被永遠壓制。
上帝揀選並使用了馬丁．路德，也使用了其他的宗教改革者，把這些事情彰顯出來。也正因如此，我們今天才能夠重新清楚地認識基督教正統信仰中一個非常重要的核心 —— 因信稱義。
接下來，我們來看第二十四節所說的話：「你們所聽的，要留心；你們用什麼量器量給人，也必用什麼量器量給你們，並且還要多給你們。」
這一段話到底在講什麼呢？我們可以一起來看看放大版聖經，它對這段經文的解釋其實更清楚一些。這裡所提到的重點是：你要留心你所聽的內容。因為照你自己所使用的衡量方式，上帝也會照樣回應你。換句話說，這裡講的是：你如何去研究屬靈的真理，你如何去實踐這些屬靈的智慧，上帝就會照著你投入的程度，來回應你。祂會給你更多的能力，也會給你更大的認識，使你能夠繼續回應祂。
第二十四到二十五節，其實也提到了一個非常關於學習的重要原則。
如果你學東西只是學個半調子，偶爾學一下，又停一下，你的學習速度通常會非常慢，拖得很久，而且效果也不會太好。反過來說，如果你在一段時間內，大量、集中地把精力放在某一件事情上學習，你會發現一件事：你很快就能掌握這門知識。而且不只是掌握而已，你會學得比別人更透徹，也能學得更深入。
因為當你在這段時間裡，把大腦、把注意力、把學習方式，全部集中在同一個主題上，你的學習速度會快很多，學習的深度也會深很多。
同樣的道理，如果你今天把你的精神花在聖經上，花在上帝的道上，你對聖經的掌握就會更快。不只是理解經文，你也會更有把握，知道聖經如何與你的生活結合在一起。這一切都不是偶然，而是上帝早就啟示我們的學習原則，也是祂親自教導我們的智慧。
簡單來說：你投入什麼，就會得到什麼。你想要怎麼收成，就要怎麼耕種。如果你願意花時間讀聖經，花時間去理解，花時間禱告、尋求上帝的旨意，那麼，上帝會給你更多，也會讓你更有能力，去分享你所領受的一切。
反過來說，如果你選擇不要，如果你不花時間、忽略祂，那麼你原本擁有的，也會失去。這正是第二十五節所說的：「因為凡有的，還要加給他；沒有的，連他所有的，也要奪去。」這一段現在非常清楚地把「聽 → 投入 → 回應 → 結果」的邏輯講出來了，也和前面的「燈要放在燈臺上」、「真理不能被隱藏」完全接在一起。
所以，你注意到了嗎？這四段經文，雖然個別都在講不同的重點，但當耶穌把它們整合在一起的時候，其實邏輯是非常清楚的。
我們看到耶穌在說的是：你要聽，你要投入，你要回應，然後，你就會被加給更多。
而到最後，你自己就成為了那個燈臺。這四句話其實是在講同一件事情。當你被放在燈臺上，能夠照亮更多人的時候，也代表你會用更多的方式去學習、去成長。上帝也會繼續地加添你，讓你成為一盞更亮的燈。這就是一個好循環。

1. 我心所關注的事情是什麼？我是否有更多關注上帝的道，上帝的話語？
2. 我有沒有繼續去精進自己，實踐道理，讓我能夠做那個 “有，還要更加添給他” 的人？

This passage also reminds us that sometimes people do use political power or relational pressure to suppress the truth or prevent it from being spoken.
But Christians must understand this:what you are sharing cannot ultimately be suppressed.
Because you are not sharing your own opinion—you are sharing God’s truth.
People may refuse to listen, but that does not mean they can stop the truth from spreading.
During the time of the Reformation, Martin Luther stood up because he could no longer suppress his conscience.
He clearly saw that the church’s practice of selling indulgences was wrong. It harmed the faith of ordinary people and damaged the witness and integrity of the church itself.
Luther could not accept this reality.So he chose to confront directly the most powerful institution of his time—the Catholic Church.
What followed was what we now know as the Reformation, a movement that swept across Europe and brought about profound historical change.
I believe many people at that time saw the same problems. Many knew something was wrong. But only Martin Luther and a small number of reformers were willing to pay the price—to even risk their lives—for the truth of Scripture.
Perhaps many monks and pastors felt the same struggle in their hearts. They knew it was wrong—but they remained silent.
Yet truth cannot be suppressed forever.
God chose and used Martin Luther and other reformers to bring these things into the light. And because of that, today we can clearly understand one of the most essential truths of historic Christianity:justification by faith.
Next, let us look at verse 24:“Consider carefully what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more will be added to you.”
What does this mean?
If we look at the Amplified Bible, it becomes even clearer. The key point is this: pay close attention to what you hear.
Because the way you measure—how you engage, how you receive—God will respond to you in the same way.
In other words, how you study spiritual truth, how you practice spiritual wisdom, determines how God responds to you. He will give you greater ability, deeper understanding, and more capacity to continue responding to Him.
Verses 24 and 25 also teach us a very important principle about learning.
If you learn something half-heartedly—studying a little, then stopping—your progress will be slow, drawn out, and ineffective.
But if, for a season, you focus deeply and invest your energy into one subject, you will find that you can grasp it much more quickly—and much more deeply than others.
When your mind, attention, and learning process are fully concentrated, both your speed and depth of understanding increase.
The same is true spiritually.
When you invest your energy in Scripture, in God’s Word, your understanding of the Bible grows more quickly. Not only do you understand the text better, but you also gain greater clarity on how Scripture connects with daily life.
This is not accidental.It is wisdom God has already revealed to us—a way of learning He Himself teaches.
Simply put:what you invest is what you receive.
How you want to harvest determines how you cultivate.
If you are willing to spend time reading Scripture, seeking understanding, praying, and discerning God’s will, then God will give you more—and enable you to share what you have received.
But if you choose not to invest, if you neglect it, even what you have will fade away.
This is exactly what verse 25 says:“For whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”
This passage clearly lays out the pattern:hearing → investing → responding → outcome.It fits perfectly with what Jesus has already said about the lampstand and the truth that cannot be hidden.
So do you see it now?
Although these verses each emphasize different points, when Jesus brings them together, the message is very clear.
Jesus is saying:you must listen,you must invest,you must respond,and then more will be given to you.
Eventually, you yourself become the lampstand.
When you are placed on the lampstand and shine light for others, you are also given more ways to learn and grow. God continues to add to you, making you a brighter light.
This is a healthy, life-giving cycle.

What occupies my attention?
Am I truly focused on God’s Word and God’s truth?
Am I continuing to grow and practice the truth, so that I may be someone who “has, and is given even more”?
